Workshop on the UU Principles and Purposes
Join us in a discussion of our principles and purposes on Sunday, Dec. 2, between 12:45 and 3:45 PM, led by Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt and Denominational Affairs Chair, Ryan Novosielski.
The UUA bylaws mandate a periodic review of our Principles and Purposes so that we are able to continue our tradition as a living and dynamic faith. In 2006, at the request of the Board of Trustees, the UUA’s Commission on Appraisal agreed to launch this review. The Commission invites Unitarian Universalist congregations to participate in the process. This will be the last workshop on this topic, the first having been completed last spring, and the second one in November. After this workshop, your feedback presented at this series will be submitted to the commission for review.
Since the UUA is an association of congregations, and since the prelude to the Principles makes it clear that it is a covenant among the congregations, it is important that we, as a UU congregation, make our opinions known about these texts.
