Friday, November 16, 2007, 7:00 - 9:30 PM.
Topic: If you love them, let them love you.
Why do some people experience perpetual loneliness, waiting eternally to find the ‘right’ person, only to have a ‘wrong’ person emerge?
This talk will be a down-to-earth and unabashed analysis of the problem. Joseph Ben-David, a Humanist Counselor, will present the paths to a positive resolution of this personally important issue.
Sponsored by the Church of Humanism.

Discussion on Sunday, Nov. 11, 12:45 - 3:45 PM. The UUA bylaws mandate a periodic review of our Principles and Purposes so that we are able to continue our tradition as a living and dynamic faith. In 2006, at the request of the Board of Trustees, the UUA’s Commission on Appraisal agreed to launch this review. The Commission invites Unitarian Universalist congregations to participate in the process. This will be the second workshop on this topic, the first having been completed last spring, and the third one scheduled for December 2nd.
Since the UUA is an association of congregations, and since the prelude to the Principles makes it clear that it is a covenant among the congregations, it is important that we, as a UU congregation, make our opinions known about these texts. Join us in this important discussion on Nov 11, between 12:45 PM and 3:45 PM. Led by Rev. Rosemary Bray McNatt and Denominational Affairs Chair, Ryan Novosielski.

This is a Unitarian Universalist adult religious education class that explores how to impart our spiritual beliefs to our children. Communicating our UU faith traditions can be joyous and frustrating at the same time because we are a non creedal faith. This class helps parents articulate for themselves their spirituality and how to pass that on to their children. The class will be given once each year. Please contact Aisha Hauser at aisha@4thu.org if you are interested in signing up for the class when it is offered again.

Open your closets and your warm hearts for our holiday fur coat drive. Working with the Humane Society, we’ll send fur items (jackets, stoles, hats, gloves, trim, scarves and muffs), to wildlife rehabilitators, who use them as bedding and nesting material for orphaned and injured animals in their care. Please drop off your tax-deductible donations to the 4th U Office from October 9-December 21.

The next New Moon SisterCircle (for women only) will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 6:30 PM. The Sister Circle provides a safe and sacred space each month to honor our connection to the Earth, to the cycles of the Moon, to our deepest selves and to each other. We do that through personal sharing, meditation, movement and magical play, with a particular emphasis on reclaiming and healing the Divine Feminine in ourselves and Society. Circles begin at 6:30 PM and the cost is $15 for Fourth U members and $21 for non-members. Call Deborah Roth at 212-665-9660 for further details.
